Plotting Routine

DynaSURF's plotting routine gives precise control of the formatting of simulation data, to allow data to be saved and input to commercial software packages such as Microcal Origin, and successful graphs plotted. Data from both surface flux and surface coverage measurements may be manipulated in this way.

DynaSURF's plotting routine lets you choose:

The choice of axes - whether you want time or length as the x axis or z axis:


The spacing between points. DynaSURF calculates using huge matrices of between 100 and 1000 points, to ensure accurate results. Plotting all these points could be beyond the capabilities of some graphical software, so DynaSURF lets you choose how many of these points you want to plot.


The start point of the graph. As some DynaSURF simulations run using a non-reactive surface run-in, DynaSURF lets you choose where to start plotting, so that you don't waste time or paper plotting points where nothing happens.


The stop point of the graph. Sometimes, the relevant information is contained within the first few points of data. Setting where you want to stop plotting allows you to focus in on these.

The plotting routine also offers comprehensive preview facilities, to ensure that the best possible graph may be plotted. These allow the numerical values of chosen data points to be displayed, and give preview plots to ensure that the plots look sensible.

Finally, the advanced file storage routine lets you choose the output format most compatible with your particular graphics software.
